My Little Poni(karovsky) Has Returned!

The New Jersey Devils have traded a 4th round pick in 2014 and 7th round pick in 2013 for Alexei Ponikarovsky.

Ponikarovksy, 32, returns to New Jersey where he played last season and had 18 points (7G, 11A) and eight penalty minutes in 33 games.

Ponikarovsky played in 12 games for the Winnipeg Jets this season. In that time, the left-winger recorded two goals and six penalty minutes. He has played in 648 career NHL games with Toronto, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Carolina, New Jersey and Winnipeg and has 316 career points (137 G, 179 A).

The move was made after it was revealed that Dainius Zubrus will have exploratory wrist surgery tomorrow and could miss anywhere between 2 to 8 weeks.

The team must now send someone down to Albany to make room on the roster for Ponikarovsky.
