Wallpaper: Kovalchuk and Brodeur – Total Team Effort

Posted by StevenWoj on February 10, 2013

Impressive effort by the team yesterday. I was a little nervous of these back-to-back games with the Penguins.

The team has a history of not playing well during afternoon games and then I was afraid that with shaken confidence they might suffer a setback in the second game and the resulting two game losing streak could have started them on a downward path.

I guess you can tell I am a glass half full kinda guy when it comes to the Devils, but they shocked me yesterday. Their play the last 45 minutes of the game was as solid an effort as I have seen from them all season.

I barely remember hearing Sidney Crosby’s name the second and third period and Evgeni Malkin (or Evgeni “I would be the best player in Rangers history and I am only the second best player on my own team” Malkin, as my friend calls him) was being stymied by Brodeur and company all day.

I hope they can come with that same effort for 60 minutes tonight.

Today’s wallpaper is a combo Ilya Kovalchuk and Martin Brodeur, but it also about the team. I thought this would be a good one because it helps show that, while the team needs it’s best players to play at their best, they also are showing that the whole is worth much more than the sum of the parts.

Let me know what you think.
