New Jersey Devils (4-4-1 / 2-1-1 at home) vs Toronto Maple Leafs (7-3-1 / 2-3-0 on the road)

- Martin Brodeur will get the start in net after proclaiming himself ready yesterday. He is 20-17-9 in his career against the Leafs with a 2.53 GAA.

- Patrik Elias left practice briefly yesterday, but returned and said he was OK after defenseman Anton Volchenkov stepped on the outside of his left ankle.

- Elias has the most points as a Devil vs the Leafs (13 g – 16 a)

- Since his move to center, Zach Parise has been held to one unassisted goal and Ilya Kovalchuk has been held without a point.

- It appears those stats were noticed: Parise is back at left wing in practice, centered by Henrique with Kovalchuk on the right.

- Kovalchuk has the most career points against the Leafs (16g – 19a).

- The Devils play four of their next five at Prudential Center (they play in Philly tomorrow), but play 15 out of their next 21 games on the road.

- The Leafs are 1st on the Northeast Division, 3rd in the Eastern Conference, and 6th in the NHL overall.
