- Patrik Elias was held without a point in Phoenix. It was only the second time in eight games this season he didn’t register a point.

- Tonight is Joe Nieuwendyk night in Dallas. The Stars will honor Nieuwendyk on his naming to the Hockey Hall of Fame. He won the Stanley Cup with New Jersey in 2003.

- This is the first of two meetings this season between the teams. Each team won in its opponent’s building last season.
