Jersey’s Team to the Nets: Puck You!

It’s bad enough that the “New Jersey” Nets are trying so desperately to move out of the state to Brooklyn. Now, as is pointed out in this great Star Ledger editorial, the Nets will be removing the words “New Jersey” from their road uniforms.
The Devils fired back by putting up an advertisement on a digital billboard along Interstate 78 (picture of the billboard below). It is a not-so-subtle jab at this latest “Anti-Jersey” move by the Nets. The Devils truly are “Jersey’s Team” (have been for a long time). The Devils have once again reminded everyone of that.

The Devils are the only professional team in New Jersey to win any championships and actually wear the New Jersey name. Even the state’s so called beloved Giants seem to forget what state their stadium is located in. Last time I checked East Rutherford was still part of NJ. But seeing as hockey is the only sport I truely love and my team is loyal to the state it plays in, all is good. As for the Nets dropping the NJ name and moving to Brooklyn, all I can say is don’t let the door hit you where the Lord split you. Good riddance to useless garbage.

If the Nets move, then the Devils will be the ONLY pro team that actually uses New Jersey. That is a damn shame! And it’s because the South Jersey tool bags all root for Philly teams…douches!
